We service the entire Sunshine Coast region, including Mooloolaba, Mountain Creek, Buderim, Sippy Downs, Maroochydore, Kawana, Bokarina, Caloundra, and surrounding areas. For projects outside these areas, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Do you provide free quotes?

Yes, we provide free, no-obligation quotes. Contact us via phone, email, or our website contact form to schedule a quote. We also have a Price Calculator on our website that is free to use to give you a head start on your project budget.

How quickly can you start my project?

Typically, we can commence work 3-4 weeks after you accept the quote and pay the deposit. This timeframe may be shorter if fabrication or powder coating isn’t required and we can fit you into our schedule. During busy periods, wait times may be longer.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, Gormans Fencing is fully licensed and insured. We maintain comprehensive public liability insurance and all necessary trade licenses.

Do I need council approval for my fence?

Requirements vary depending on your location and the type of fence. Generally, standard boundary fences under 1.8m don’t require approval, but we recommend checking with your local council. We can provide guidance based on our experience, but obtaining permits remains the client’s responsibility.

How do I know where my boundary is?

Boundary locations should be confirmed before fence installation begins. We recommend checking your property survey plan or hiring a licensed surveyor if you’re uncertain of exact boundaries. Clearly marked boundary pegs should be visible before work commences.

What if I’m sharing the cost of a fence with my neighbor?

We offer several options for shared fencing costs. Please refer to our “Sharing Costs with Neighbours” document for detailed information on how we can structure the quote and payment arrangement.

How tall can my fence be?

Standard boundary fences are typically 1.8m high, but we can install fences of various heights according to your needs and local regulations. Please note that fences over 2m high may not be warranted against wind damage, and council approval may be required for taller fences.

Preparation & Installation

Do I need to prepare my property before installation?

Yes, the project site should be clear of obstacles within 500mm on each side of the fence line. This includes vegetation, tree roots, plants, building materials, pot plants, ornaments, pipes, clothes lines, and irrigation systems. If site clearing is required, this can be included in your quote for an additional fee.

What happens if there are underground services?

It’s the client’s responsibility to check for underground services before work begins. We recommend contacting Dial Before You Dig and sharing this information with us. Gormans Fencing is not liable for damage to unmarked underground services.

Will the fence follow the exact ground contour?

Our installers will determine the best levels and heights on the day of installation. Fence heights may vary depending on the natural ground level, and gaps under fences should be expected on sloping ground. Filling these gaps is the client’s responsibility.

What if rocks or concrete are discovered during installation?

If we encounter unforeseen rocks, concrete, or bricks that require jackhammering, additional charges may apply based on the degree of difficulty or hours required. We’ll discuss this with you before proceeding with extra work.

After Installation

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes, all our work comes with a workmanship warranty. The length of warranty depends on the type of fence installed. Manufacturer warranties also apply to materials. Please note that fences higher than 2m are not warranted against wind damage.

What happens if I find an issue after installation?

If you notice any issues with your fence after installation, please contact us immediately. We’re committed to ensuring customer satisfaction and will address legitimate concerns promptly.

Do you remove the old fence?

Removal of existing fences can be included in your quote for an additional fee. If not specified in the quote, removal remains the client’s responsibility.

Who is responsible for maintaining the fence?

Once installed, regular maintenance of the fence is the property owner’s responsibility. We’re happy to provide maintenance tips specific to your fence type.
