Terms & Conditions
Terms & Conditions – Gormans Fencing
Quotation Validity
Your quotation is valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Any increases in material costs prior to written acceptance and payment of deposit will be passed on to the client who has accepted this quote.
Payment Terms
A 50% deposit of the quoted price is required upon acceptance of this quote.
Full payment is due strictly within 7 days after completion of works unless otherwise stated in writing.
All materials and completed work remain the property of Gormans Fencing until full payment is received.
Client Responsibilities
It is the client’s responsibility to check with local council regarding building approvals and to obtain any required permits or engineers’ reports.
If the client chooses to proceed with works without proper permits or engineers’ reports, the client acknowledges all responsibility lies with them, not with Gormans Fencing.
The client agrees to conduct all necessary enquiries for underground services before work commences and/or obtain reports from Dial Before You Dig.
Property boundaries must be determined by owners before commencement of works. Clients must ensure all boundary pegs are visible, clearly marked, and correctly positioned.
The client is responsible for providing electricity and water for construction purposes.
Site Preparation
This quote assumes the job site is clear of obstacles and obstructions within 500mm on each side of the fence line.
The client is responsible for removing vegetation, tree roots, plants, building materials, ornaments, pots, pipes, clothes lines, irrigation systems, and other debris unless such clearing is specifically identified and charged in the contract.
Additional charges may apply for clearing vegetation, rubbish, or existing fences if required to commence work.
Gormans Fencing is not responsible for damage to plants, ornaments, pots, or other materials within the working site or access areas not properly cleared.
Installation Specifications
Fence heights stated in quotes are approximate and measured from the bottom of the structure to the top of the fence.
Heights may vary depending on natural ground level, and gaps under fences should be expected. Filling such gaps is the client’s responsibility.
Fences higher than 2000mm will not be warranted against wind damage.
Installers will determine the best levels, heights, and fence post positioning unless otherwise specified in the quote.
Any changes to fence positioning at the time of installation must be recorded with signed agreement on the job sheet.
Gates will be hung level off post or wall, with positioning confirmed at installation or as specified in the quote.
Gates come standard with D-LATCH unless otherwise specified.
Existing gates or attachments will not be reconnected unless quoted for, and no warranty will be provided for reattached existing materials.
Additional Charges
Extra works required for jackhammering unforeseen rocks, concrete, or bricks will incur additional charges based on the degree of difficulty or hours required.
Gormans Fencing is not liable for damages or cracking to brickwork, concrete, or tiles during installation.
If installation is delayed by the client after a commencement date is given and material prices increase, the additional cost will be passed on to the client.
A pickup and storage fee may apply if materials have been fabricated and collected from suppliers.
If works are canceled, any outgoing expenses will be charged to the client, including pickup/drop-off fees, cancellation charges from suppliers, or costs of already fabricated/powder coated materials.
Variations
Any variations or changes after work has commenced require either a written site variation signed by the client or an email detailing and authorizing the extra work.
Miscellaneous
Temporary fencing can be supplied at additional cost if requested, but remains the client’s responsibility.
Photos taken of completed work become the property of Gormans Fencing and may be used for advertising purposes.
Supply and installation typically commences 3-4 weeks from acceptance of quote and payment of deposit (weather permitting), but may be longer during busy periods.
Liability
Gormans Fencing and William Gorman accept no liability whatsoever for damage to underground services unless those services are clearly marked and made known prior to commencement of work.
